Children Collide appeared for the first time in a Triple J Hottest 100 with one entry in the 2008 countdown; "Farewell Rocketship" at number 66. The trio appeared at Triple J's One Night Stand 2009 held in Sale, Victoria, Australia, alongside Hilltop Hoods, Eskimo Joe, and The Butterfly Effect. Their song "Social Currency" was the theme song for the Nine Network's Friday Night Football coverage of the NRL. Children Collide appeared at the second annual Coaster Music Festival on 12 September 2009, at Gosford Showground on the NSW Central Coast. Children Collide later announced that the album was mixed and finished on the 16th of December. We Three, Brave and True (2005). Glass Mountain Liars (2006). Farewell Rocketship (2009).
The clanging punk-infused indie rock of Children Collide was born from the partnership of guitarist/vocalist Johnny Mackey and bassist Heath Crawley; the group later also included a drummer named Ryan. Emerging out of the Melbourne pub scene, their melodic yet abrasive sound sometimes garnered Children Collide comparisons to American rock heroes Sonic Youth and Nirvana. The guys released the six-song EP We Three, Brave and True in 2005, followed late the next year by the Glass Mountain Liars EP on Australia's Flying Nun Records.
Monument is the third and final album by alternative rock band Children Collide. Its release was announced just after lead single 'Sword to a Gunfight' was premiered on the Triple J breakfast show with Tom Ballard and Alex Dyson. It was made the Triple J feature album from 10–17 April. The album cover was designed by Isobel Knowles. This is the last album to feature drummer Ryan Caesar. His departure was announced on 29 February 2012.
Children Collide released their scintillating debut album, 'The Long Now', last year. The album was a mixture of their first two EPs, 'We Three, Brave And True' (which was recorded in a tin shed at the back of a house in Brunswick on a next-to-nothing budget) and 'Glass Mountain Liars' (which was done on a slightly larger budget). Packed full of highlights ('Cannibal', 'Farewell Rocketship' and 'Social Currency' to name a few), the LP secured the indie-rock three-piece an even larger legion of fans
