You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 1 is a double disc live album by Frank Zappa. It was released in 1988 (see 1988 in music) under the label Rykodisc. It was the beginning of a six-volume, 12-CD set Zappa assembled of live performances throughout his career.

Format: 2 CD, Album. Published By – Frank Zappa Music. Published By – Limax Music. Published By – Royal Music (3).

Frank Zappa "You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 1" (1988) album. The Florida Airport Tape Lyrics. Ruthie-ruthie Lyrics.

Hopefully, comparisons to recordings by the later ensembles will put an end to that peculiar misconception.

While most of the other volumes in the You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore series would be compiled around loose themes (whether topical or historical), this first volume contained a little of everything for everyone. The material spans most of Frank Zappa's career, from 1969 live recordings by the original Mothers of Invention (the medley "Let's Make the Water Turn Black/Harry, You're a Beast/The Orange County Lumber Truck" constitutes a highlight) up to the 1984 tour, with about every incarnation of his group in-between.

According to the album this is the correct information. This is what Frank Zappa did for this specific release. Producers Frank Zappa. Writers Frank Zappa & Harry Owens. More Frank Zappa albums. Zappatite: Frank Zappa’s Tastiest Tracks. Understanding America.

I can't say what's right or what's wrong But I love you All ya gotta do is call me, babe 'Cause I want you. You make me feel So excited, girl I got so hung up on you From the moment that we met, That no matter how I try, I can't keep the tears From running down my face, I'm all alone at my place. You didn't try to call me Why didn't ya try, didn't ya try Didn't ya know I was lonely? (Baby.

"This series took 20 years to put together. It provides for those interested in my music a comprehensive collection of unreleased live material (absolutely no over dubs), recorded in every available medium (7½ ips analog two-tracks up through 24 track digital), beginning with the earliest tapes (October, 1968, Royal Festival Hall, London, England), to the most recent (featuring material from our 1988 "Broadway The Hard Way" world tour).
Great care has been taken to ensure the best audio quality, however early selections of historical interest performed by the original Mothers Of Invention, though not exactly "hi-fi", have been included for the amusement of those fetishists who still believe the only "good" material was performed by that particuliar group. Hopefully, comparisons to recordings by the later ensembles will put an end to that peculiar misconception."
