The band name is a play on a certain insectoid British Invasion band and Horn's desire to be their New Wave equivalent, although they always seemed closer to the Moody Blues to me (all the fade-out aaaaahhh-ing). I still lived in Belgium when the Buggles hit big with the "Video Killed the Radio Star" in late 1979, and couldn't wait to snap up their debut album, back in the vinyl days. Now, 30 years later, I bought this reissue. The Age of Plastic" (11 tracks, includind 3 bonus tracks; 48 mi. plays like a trip back in time, and plays surprisingly well, frankly.
